I'm a qualified welder of long standing, and quiet frankly I'm appalled at the advice given on the opening page of this web-site. You do not- repeat not mig weld in a circular motion, its a lack of technique and ignorance!
E-mail with any queries and I will be glad to help unless your welding up a car for the following reasons. 1 MIG (metal inert gas) or more correctly named MAG (Metal and gas) there is after all a very reactive component in this, namely OXYGEN. 2 MIG will not touch oxidized metal (rust) to make a half decent weld on oxidized steel nessitates the removal of said rust, you are far better off using OXY-ACETELENE as the flame needs more oxygen than the welding torch can provide IE- the atmosphere or this is where it gets good taking the oxygen out of ferrous oxide and returning it back to metal! Its up to you, remove base metal or restore, it's not that good it's but far less detructive than grinding.
