Hi
Newbie just getting started so stupid question time…
my welder came with a couple of tips both 0.8 mm
do I HAVE to use 0.8 mm wire with them or can I use 0.9mm or 0.6 mm too?
or do I need to buy an exact tip to suit the wire diameter
thanks
Check your welder manuel or the rollers themselves most are able two run two sizes of wire by simply turning the rollers around . As above
the tip should really match the wire your running .
The tip provides the contact area which carries the current during welding. A 0.8 tip has a hole 0.8 +/- a small tolerance. 0.9mm wire may not fit, but if it does then it'll work fine. 0.6mm wire will easily fit, but it's contact area will be smaller. This probably won't make much difference, so long as you're not running loads of current.
The correct roller is probably more important.
