I have built the carcass for a large copper dragon and now need to cover it with scales. I have brazed everything so far, but shall find this hard with the scales. I will not be able to hold them in place, hold the torch and feed in the filler rod at the same time. I could drill and pin the scales in place whilst I braze them, but this will be laborious.
I have a basic MIG welder that can work with or without gas and I was wondering whether I could use this in any way to at least tack them in place prior to brazing. I also have an old AC arc welder.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you.
James.
