I have 4 mig machines 400-450A and i want to convert a mig machine to tig.
I can put a tungsten tip(4mm tungsten-carbide end mill will work?) on mig gun instead of wire
or use a new tig torch.
The mig machines are CV (constant voltage) but tig needs CC ( constant current).
I have big igbts & mosfets (> 500A current)
so i plan to use a microcontroller like arduino or something more powerful like stm32
with a gate driver to drive the igbts with pwm.
To read the output current i will use shunt or current transformer (i have those)
so microcontroller will read the output current and will modify the pwm duty cycle
to keep current stable.
This iam describing will work ? Needs something else to modify mig to tig ?
