MIG not working, help!!

Hi fellas.
I did a C&G MIG course a while ago. Just about to start doing some work on a VW project. Using a snap on MIG 130. I got set up an did a couple of test pieces on scrap metal, it all worked ok. I turned up the wire feed a little and now when i press the trigger, the wire feeds but nothing else, as if the welder is not working. I've checked the gas, the needle on the gauge moves when the trigger is pressed, checked the earth is good so what am i doing wrong?!!
I would be greatful for any help.

Have you actually put a piece of metal in the earth clamp and arced up on it since you adjusted the feed ?

Can you hear the contactor close? did you used to be able to?

It appears it was a bad earth on my bench i think. If i go straight to the earth clamp i get an arc. And yes i think i can hear the contactor. Will try setting up somewhere else and use a better earthing point.
