Have never welded before and want to learn. Know that i want a MIG welder due to my lack of skills and its versatility.
It will be used mainly on 2mm car body, but want to be able to go up to 4mm ish. So that means a minimum of 120 amp, but think ill go for minimum of 150A. Needs to run off of a basic house plug. Chances are that it will get minimal use, but don't want to buy twice.
Have been looking at the Clarke 151EN and then the Clarke 160TM. Have been swayed by clarke by there good reviews and most of all there prices. Anything else worth looking at?
I don't want to spend silly money. Ideally no more than £350 including absolutely everything, such as bottle gas, mask... Could probably go to £400 if really necessary. The cheaper i can get away with, without it being crap the better.
What sort of costs are bottles and gas roughly to use with these welders?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
