Been reading about MIG brazing on the main site. It looked easy, so gave it a try. Using a SIP Migmate 130 and trying to join 22 SWG mild steel (.9mm ?).
Bought MIG brazing wire (V.expensive) and Argon Shielding Gas - just like the man said.
My results - 'orrible. Just blobs of braze - it didn't want to flow into the joint. Tried all settings from Min to Medium heat, and also different wire speeds. Main problem seemed to be melted brazing wire sticking to end of tip, and some times even building up inside the shroud - already had to scrap one shroud. I'm thinking whether a flux should be used as well, even though the instructions said that none would be required.
Anyone got any ideas?
