Ive got a maypole maximig 100 amp, i know in my heart im going to be buying a new welder, but i thought id try a conversion on my welder first.
Basically, ive taken out the transformer, rectifier, etc, and put inside of it a inverter arc welder i had. I mounted the arc inside the case, the ac power switch ive wired to the relay on the little maypole board, so when i pull the trigger it switches the arc welder on. It makes an arc fine, not sure how long this will last as im not sure if turning the arc on and off millions of times will do it any damage or if it should be wired on all the time and another relay put in place.
The problem i have is on the old welder, 3 wires went to the rectifier, and i dont know enough to know where to put them now. can someone help please?
thanks
It may not work the way i think and it was just an experiment when i was bored, didnt expect to get this far with it !
thanks
