Between trigger presses, the high frequency function on my Kemppi MLS has stopped functioning. It still works as a DC scratch-start, gas still flows, no error codes, just no HF (and subsequently no AC welding either).
There's probably only a fried capacitor in there somewhere, and I'd rather fix it than shell out $ for an unnecessary new motherboard. Any ideas, anyone? This is its first breakdown.

Turns out it was the spark card.

I also have a Kemppi master TIG. My HF start seems to work most of the time but sometimes it just wont work until a second or third time. Was this the way your machine played up? Can you explain the "spark card", where it goes and how much it cost to replace it?

Mal, also in Australia. Toowoomba actually.

    Thanks Eddie.

Lots of technical stuff in that document. It is not eactly my machine so a bit hard for me to reconcile.
These are great machines but I am not an electrical kind of guy so will have to take it to a friend who should be able to work it out.
    Thanks for your help.
