Looking at buying faulty ESAB Caddy 200i Video

Hi all,

This iis available as spares or repairs locally to me. It seems like it's welding but the welds do not penetrate at all- pricey enough at £350 also

Likely to be an easy fix or best avoid? To be fair I have 6 or 8 welders already

It could be the steel needs properly grinded back and the power/ amps / wire speed need turned up. Maybe worn or incorrect tip size too.

Never heard of welds sitting on top of metal before which is what is puzzling me on this one. It is 1hr 15 mins drive away so not too handy to check out either.

ive seen a video on repairing those ,,, after watching the video I wouldnt be keen ,,,

I wouldn't buy it even if it was 100% working to be honest, was talking about ESAB with one of my contacts just a few weeks ago and he was telling me at his work doing light sheet metal fabrication they've lost 3 out of 4 ESAB machines just months out of warranty and the one they have left still has a few months warranty on it. They've replaced them with Jasic machines as a stop gap measure but they won't be buying ESAB again, I think it's just a name at this point as far as there welding machines go anyway, i still like their consumables though.

Bet it says Made In Sweden, Germany or other European Country on it.
