Had a sweep of the chimney last night, but brush kept getting stuck... Wanted to put a new register plate in too, so knocked the stove pipe out and pulled out the burner... Upon closer inspection, theres nothing attached to the top end of the stove pipe...
Looking up, theres a liner about a metre or so up, which is a tight fit. You can just make out the end of it in the picture.
If my stove pipe passes up so far into the chimney, past the rectangular bit and well into the round bit, and its clay pipe lined anyway, is this acceptable with a sealed register plate?
Just to add, it was originally installed by a Hetas registered guy, approx 10 years ago.
