Hi, I am aware that many of us, sorry (ahem) many of you have used old butane/propane cylinders to make BBQs, wood burners, forge hearths etc etc and these have been aquired from many nefarious sources which we will not go into here.
But, there has to be a life that these cylinders are given, my question being what happens to them then? If the likes of Calor, FloGas, BP, Shell et al have a lifeing policy, does anybody know what they do with them once said life has expired?
This would seem a far better source of material for projects and I'd imagine that the gas companies have to decomission them from being gas cylinders to being scrap, meaning they'd remove the valves and flush them so they could be sold as scrap.
I think I might occasion an e-mail to said companies to see if they'll let me know (or even deign to reply), if I find owt out I'll report back.
