Led tape in extrusion

I had a sparky round today to help plan the electrics in the new workshop build, one suggestion he made to help keep the roof height to a maximum was LED tape in aluminum extrusion attached to the easi joists I did a little Googling but unable to find a definitive answer if these are suitable for a main light source. The sparks said they are easy to custom fit, dimmable and easily bright enough, does any one have any experience of these as a main lighting source rather than under kitchen units, plinths etc?

Ok for a bit of decorative lighting, I wouldn't entertain them for a workshop.

what ever lightsget more than you need and a bank of switches better to have to meny and turn them off than have to little

We had them in the camper van. I’d say they were adequate for that but no way would I want them in a workshop.

Light is like sockets. Work out what you need, double it and add a bit for luck

Get another sparks - that one will cost you the price of two.
