A question for those who use and recomend the Lechsys epoxy.
After a bit of a delay, I'm now about to start spraying my MG re-shell project. I bought some tins of Lechsys Epoxy - 29107 Binder plus the activator, thinners etc. a few months back.
Reading some recent-ish posts it seems that Metalflake, my supplier, supply untinted paint, rather than a standard grey or white tinted version that others send out. The binder looks grey in the tin, but I've seen reports of the same elsewhere with the sprayed finish being almost transparent.
I want either a white or light grey tint as a base to the topcolour. The Lechsys handbook reports that the white tinter 29000 is compatible with 29107 but how much tinter should be used, when is it mixed and how do you account for the tint volume in the binder / activator / thinner ratios?
Is there a specific filter paper (or filter pore size) that should be used when straining this paint into the cup?
I'm also struggling to find suppliers of tint on the net. The Metalflake site appears to be having problems today. Can anyone suggest a supplier?
Is the Lechsys epoxy becoming hard to get hold of?
Thanks
