I was thinking vairiable speed means no counter shaft so less space and aren't 3phase motors quieterNot sure why everyone seems to want variable speeds so much, and be careful the chuck doesn't fly off if you fit a reverse. Personally I wouldn't pay £350 for a working Myford, and yes, I have got one.
That price is for a 3/4hp motor a 1hp inverter and a speed controller it's got programmable soft startYup. Put one on mine last year, no regrets. Be running the mill and new lathe from the same vfd too this year.
Shop around for a better deal though. Paid 120 for a new 2hp 3p motor.

This is the one I saw if you could find me some links to everything this one comes with I'd be very grateful
Could you give me some links to the parts I would need to do that and would one of the Clark 3phWe know
That's a very basic pendant; on/off and speed...You can have reverse and jog functions and, as I said, a tacho, although that's not a necessity.
This is mine, I didn't bother with the jog, but ever now and then it would be nice, it's only another switch.

I take the power for the tacho from the VFD 10V line, with no ill effects. there are a couple of relays in there set up as a latching circuit.

And that all looks complicatedWe know

When you have the components in front of you its not bad.And that all looks complicated
