Hi All, Does anyone recognize or know the make of this lathe please. I know daft but always fancied a metal lathe and so took the plunge and bought this from someone who has inherited it with no knowledge of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't homemade or from a kit. Looks like it's constructed from steel stock rather than castings.

Definitely home made. Probably built on and old lathe bed.

how much ?? looks to have some sort of a collet chuck on it so if there isn't a 3 and a4 jaw chuck with it you would be very limited for use and depending on the thread of chuck they might not be available

It looks complete and has a good selection of parts. £300 doesn't get much in lathes these days so you should be ok

An awful lot of time has gone into making that, wonder whether it was an apprentice piece

Looks like way more than £300 worth of accessories if you were to buy them separately, good luck with your new lathe.

Phew your comments help-a bit. Even if it`s to aid learning to use a lathe. Cheers and stay safe.

Looks like index discs in this picture - if there's a full indexer in a box somewhere that's £150 all on it's own!

I wouldn't worry - on the assumption that it works (or can be easily made to work) then I think the consensus is that you got a good deal.

Get it home, and get stuck in :D
