i am going to attempt to make some iron furniture for outside, is a mig welder up to the job. i apologise for the thicko question but i dont want to go and buy an unsuitable welder. i would be very grateful for any advice as i am new to this game.
Yes you will get a decent 150amp MIG for that, or thereabouts. Clarke are about the best mini-Migs on the market (this is not biased & I won't try to sell you one!) & if you wait for one of Machine Mart's "Vat Free" days you will get a good deal.
If you can stretch the £200 a bit to £230+ go for the Clarke 160T model which is an excellent little set. It accepts the larger, refillable gas cylinders (not supplied, so more money) so, in the long run, you will save on the disposable gas canister costs (which don't last two minutes & can be up to £12 a go!).
