I have a kemppi kempact 253a synergic machine that works out wire speed and voltage for you, but struggling with machine as my logic I used for working out what wire speed I would need doesn't seem to fit with kemppi.
I want to learn the maths behind how it works it out and how I walk up to a job and know what wire speed I should be dialling in, because as I'm using it it's really underestimating material size so would like some help.
I wanted to weld some 12g tube, now if I dial in 2.6mm material thickness it gives me like 11m/min and ends up being 160 odd amps, which seems very high that I know I tig weld the same tube (2.64mm) at 90-100amps.
Messing the machine to get the output I want ended up with 5.6m/min and 21volts which was allot higher then expected, this gave around 95amps output even though statically it said it would be 90amps. The material size in the synergic mode is suggesting that this is suttiable for 1.5mm plate... Just don't seem right.
If I use the maths I normally use 2.64mm / 0.0254 = 103.9amps (metric version of .001" per amp thickness) 103.9amps x 0.0508 = 5.28m/min (metric version of 2inch per min rule for 0.030" wire)
So where I ended up is kinda right, but I don't get the synergic bit is referring too,
Synergic, 2.5meterial thickness is 8.8 wire feed, 148amps, 19.5volts, this is blowing the metal away.
Just want to understand the maths better so I can work with this machine, I am ocd, so this is annoying me on a level you'll never get lol
