Evening all,
Been working the Kempomat 250 pretty hard on 5mm mild steel for the last week and have been experiencing the odd arcing issue. Has maybe happened 3 or 4 times a day amongst 10 hours of welding. It would not arc up straight away, wire would feed as normal, then maybe a second later it would spark.
I'd like to rule out the earthing side as performance has been fine the rest of the time. I also changed the torch and lead part way through to a larger torch for 1.0mm wire as my 0.8mm contact tips were getting ruined in a very short period. So I was thinking that maybe it is a component in the machine on its way out?
If the problem becomes terminal my work will arrange repair with our normal guy, I'm just curious to improve my knowledge of the internal workings of my welder.
Cheers
