I'm looking for some experiences/opinions. I normally use argon mix but I've been wondering lately if it would be worth giving Co2 a try on some less critical stuff. (Its only DIY bits and pieces so none of it is really critical anyway).
Its not really a cost issue i don't think the gas is that expensive particularly for the modest amounts i use, though i know the co2 is a fair bit cheaper, I'm mostly just curious, and i already have several tanks of Co2 anyway that i use for beer/carbonating soft drinks (it's straight co2 no nitrogen or whatever). It would also give me a backup in case i ran out of gas in the middle of something.
I know the simple answer here is why not just give it a try but to do that i will possibly have to get a different regulator (maybe not I'm still investigating). Or at the very least cobble something up to connect the beer line pipework to the welder, so its not literally just a case of hook it up and try.
So I was just looking for some opinions on whether it was even worth the effort or if i should just stick to what i know?
If it makes a difference I'm using an Oxford Migmaker 240.
