Good evening everybody - my first post, although I have been watching as a "Guest" for a while and surreptitiously picking your brains......
I have a Tradesmig 160. It has a 13 amp fuse fitted to a plug in the normal manner.
I use my welder in my workshop, plugging into a ring main that is protected by a 20amp mcb.
There is a freezer using the same ring all the time, but my "Man Cave" is my domain, so nothing else is drawing current on the circuit.
When I am welding, the mcb will trip occasionally, usually as I am starting a new pulse of weld. I can weld continuously for a period of seconds without interruption, but using quick pulses, after about ten or so, off it pops.
Part of me is reassured by the protection, but I have to say it gets irritating at times......
Should I wire in a specific circuit just for the welder, perhaps with a higher rated mcb?
Thanks for any help.
