I've serviced a couple of loading shovels with a tap arrangement (Original equipment) for draining the oil.
I could not see what was wrong with that, providing it could not be ripped off by the first road hump or pot hole.
I'd have gone with nails instead of bolts for the fuses, there would be a bit more surface area to make a good contact.
The battery and spanners look quite good if you haven't got jump leads.

Sometimes you have to use what you got, it's all you have, nearest place is a thousand miles away, and the alternative to a bodge is walking.
More like never-blow, it's okay doing stupid tricks like that until there is a problem and the wire becomes the fuse (if you're lucky)I think they're slow-blow
