    It's just a big ornament - Such a small throat depth to be of any use.

    Radial arm drills are much more useful.

    No, I know the one you mean (it's now an internet meme!). That was horrific. I think the one you're talking about was getting on for ten tons when it snapped the gantry cable and smashed itself to bits on the floor.

    I feel sorry for Brian but rebuilding a big crane and leaving the forty year old hemp cored(absorbs moisture) steel rope was being a bit of a bell really. especially as hes a intelligent man
    He was lucky the drill didn't get him or the bridge didn't jump off the runners when the rope snapped
