It is to take a winch plate some of the time and the rest it will be a mounting plate for a tapering tool box.
Overkill I know. I made it so accurately. Everything was within a few thou.
Then I welded the top plate onto the angle beneath. The top plate has bent - 12mm thick! Not a lot but enough. Now it is curved up in the middle. Now the bolts through the brackets don't line up.
How do I straighten it? Will heat from an oxy straight down the middle on the top of the plate bend it back?
And for future stuff how do I stop this happening again? I know you need lots of heat to stick things to thick steel.
