Anyone successful in shortening one of these?
It came off a hospital patient lift.. are the end caps screwed in?
Be nice to know before I wreck it

I'd check how much new seals cost before you mess with it, we have a ram at work (not the same as yours) and the price was eyewatering

for seals check out seals on line or bearings online if I remember....
I used to change a lot on old tractors.....didn't wanna go OEM.....
saved a fortune.....
plenty of sizes inc Imp.....

What are your plans for that ram. If you don't mind me asking.
I had one in the shed I used it to make a rise function for one of our arm chairs for the use of a disabled realitive when they came round.
Alas no longer required the ram is in the shed and I was wondering what use I could put it to

If iam correct these rams are a “tube in tube” design. Outer tube acts like a reservoir so it is not as easy to shorten it.

looking for a replacement for a dog grooming table.....that one is too long
how long is the one you have (assuming it could be available?)
