Hello everyone.
So I've bought myself a Portamig 185, a 5kg roll of wire and the reel adaptors that Weldequip sells. However I'm a little unsure about how to fit the adaptors. My roll of wire has a hole on each side of the shaft hole. This obviously lines up with the lug on the portamig spool holder. However fitting the reel directly onto the shaft means that the wire doesn't line up with the wire feed. So then I added the blue adaptor, which again has a lug that fits into the spool of wire. Although better the wire still doesn't line up with the wire feed. If I now fit the yellow or red adaptors then I can get the the wire to line up, but the lug from the blue adapter now doesn't meet up with the hole on the wire spool as it is too far away. How important is it that the lug mates with the reel of wire, and if important how can I solve this problem.
Sorry for the essay, but I've searched the forum and haven't had much luck in finding a solution.
Thankyou.
