A friend has this -
It's the top of a tent type thing (yurt-a-like)
He has just had it blasted and powdered (against my recommendation but it's his life!) and then managed to fracture a few of the small pipes which he now needs fixing.
Which I can do fine, but not whilst it's covered in plastic.
I'm going to get him to clean it up. My best guess was to heat it, see if the powder would scrape off, and, if it didn't scrape off, carry on heating and turn it to ash, and then get a wire wheel on it...
Or incinerate it and then blast the area (as in small area).
I plan to reflow the fractured joint with Tig, as I'm more competent with Tig than mig and can control it all that much better. I'm never expecting a clean weld.
Is this as good a plan as any?
And, specifically, any better ways of removing the powder?
