Another one here. Career's teacher at school said left-handers had to tell their employer they were left handed because we were a health and safety risk in the work place. We were told to put that information in the "disability section" or "any other information section" of all job application forms.

Lifetime leftie here and proud of it. Has caused some issues but has advantages too. I remember being “encouraged “ to write properly at school because I always smudged the ink. Failed miserably so the school bought me a Biro pen.

My wife is strongly lefty, can’t use her right for anything. When she started school her dad was asked “ do you want me to force her right handed” he refused as he was a lefty as well. Our son isn’t, but his son is, so it’s a fairly strong gene in her family.

My mums mums, my mum, and myself are Left handed.

Living in a RHD world you just get on with. Besides, I see it as an advantage. Despite been beaten at school for it.

Bricklayers were paid more if you could lay left handed as two brickies could work the same wall

I can use my left arm for most things now.
But not for writing. That's right handed.
    Some say not even then.

When my neck went "wonky" and the use of my left arm stopped. The rehab team made a point in getting me to use it more and train it to do more.

It certainly makes life easier to be able to use both.

I still shot left eye for some reason

Left or right except for writing can shoot with either better with left,, if you fence it is a distinct advantage fighting a right hander

Hi, Myself and immediate family are all right handed. However my niece has hemiplegia, what used to be called cerebral palsy, among the problems is reduced articulation with the left hand and foot for which she has physio. She usually takes the easy route with most things but she is very driven to use them and is also conscious of holding it 'right' so it looks natural and is always asking her mum if it looks OK. A physio-therapist did suggest at one point that she thought she might be left handed, that would explain the determination to persevere to get more use from it.
