Sorry if this is in the wrong section I was unsure of where to put it.
Has anybody ever made one and wouldn't mind sharing some ideas and photos that would be great.
This is what I am thinking
It is going to be a fairly large preheat oven for repairs to our tooling at work
approx 1m x 1m x 1m.
I was thinking of using firebricks for the base and some ceramic insulating board or fireplace construction board for the sides
https://shop.vitcas.com/ceramic-fibre-board-1260-vitcas-insulating-board.html
My thoughts are to use some 4mm steel plate to build 3 sides of a box and top, use some 10 or 12mm plate for the base with 12mm wide ribs (about 20mm higher than the firebrick for circulation) welded to the base spaced out so fire bricks fit in between as this will need to support a lot of weight, I would bond the ceramic boards to the side and the lid, but I am unsure what to do for the front loading door.
Also for heating it up my first thought is to cut some holes in 2 sides and use a propane gas roofing torch
If anybody has any suggestions please share them.
