Hi All
Stumbed on to this website today looking for some info on welders and how to weld, what can I say apart from Fantastic
Just got back from machine mart and am now the proud owner of a Clarke Mig 151TE.
So when I finish work tonight I'll be seeing if I can join 2 pieces of metal together for the first time without blowing to many holes init at the same time!!
I've got loads of metal to pratise on before I try to weld the floor and sills on my car, I've got a 1983 XR4i that I got at the begining of the year, I'm a member of the www.xr4register.com and XR Owners Club and having got to the end (nearly) of the show season, I removed the interior to replace it with another one and looked under the carpets while I was there and found some nice big holes along the floor near the sills.
Having wanted to learn to weld for a long time, I thought this would be the ideal place to start, as its under the carpet it won't be on display at shows, it does also need the rear arches doing but i think I'll be paying a pro to do that
Anyway thats a bit about me, i'll post later to let you know how my first attemps at welding went and maybe some pics if I can upload them.
here a few pics of my car
The second one from the afternoon after I fitted clear indicators.
Cheers
