Hi used the inverter stick 140 Aldi for few months now and find it great for stick. I’m still at the getting to grips with it stage but pulling very decent welds with good penetration.
Wife has bought me a tig torch for it.
Guys at the shop kitted me out with WP17 torch 1.6mm tungsten 6 ceramic.
I’m trying to practise but getting an arc going does not seem able unless I’ve got tip about 5mm from work piece then due to voltage it will be pulling it just carved through thin steel.
I’m sure it’s a simple mistake on my part but it’s driving me nuts.
Torch is on negative. Argon 8lpm 1.6 mm steel cleaned.
Also the point disappearing after few seconds of the oversize arc.
Set welder to 50 60 and 70 amps. No difference. Tip ground to point using drill turning very slowly against a clean wheel at full spin.
Cheers.
