Hi all, I’m both new to this forum and MIG welding. I have dabbled in TIG but am far from great!!!
I have recently received a Clarke 196 turbo mig welder to try out and I’m having a few issues!!!
When used before they didn’t use gas but I have converted it as instructed in the manual. My problem comes with settings.
How much gas should I have it set at??
Where is a good place to start for both feed rate and voltage setting when welding mild steel app 4-6mm thick.
the welder has 2 settings, high and low with 2 settings in each one. Giving me 4 voltage settings. currently my welds look like blobs day on top of the material.
Any suggestions / tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John
