Hi Everyone,
I've bought an 80's Mercedes that needs a lot of little bits of welding and bodywork.
Its inner wheel arches, holes in boot and floor, rust where inner meet sill.
Usual places.
I'd love to do the work myself (I love the Discovery Channel! Overhaulin' etc!) but I dont have the premises or the time and the car deserves better than be my learning tool!
Its the galvanised model (not that thats stopped the rust!) and I'm based in South London with family in Manchester (so I could take the car there).
Basically, I need to find the right and affordable place to do the work.
1).What questions should I ask as to how they are going to weld the car and carry out the work?
Its important its done well as I want to keep the car and hopefully keep it rust free in the future.
2).Is it better to take it to one of the classic car garages advertised or a local bodyshop/garage where I can often pop in?
3). Does anyone know/recommend anyone??!!!?
Thanks in advance!!!!!
