OK, so, I've got a big sheet of 0.9 steel to practise welding with. I've cut lots of bits to practise butt welding. My problem is that I don't get enough penetration, so I slow down a bit and I blow holes. It's a clarke 135 te turbo and I've tried it on several settings. I've now got it on 2, min, and wire speed 5 (helpful if you've got one, sounds like gobbledegook if not), this seems to be the best setting.
I'm also tacking the pieces then doing short runs in different areas in order to not let too much heat build up.
I've just switched to co2/argon mix which is totally different to weld with, but I still seem to have the same problem.
Any ideas??
