Hi Guys
I recently retired and decided to expand my welding. I did a welding course 40 yrs ago but over those year Ive only Arc welded. So I went back to collage on a part time evening class to refresh the other methods. I decided to do a HNC welding module. I have always struggled at vision during welding and wear glasses. However, over the last 3 weeks vision has been difficult with misting up, on the inside and outside lenses, together with my poor vision, I was unable to complete the last 2 runs of the module. I am disgusted with myself so I walked out.
I have a Sealey red helmet, the lens were replaced last week, it appears completely clear until I strike the MIG wire, then nothing just a bright glare and fog. Cant follow a straight line. In summer I also suffer from Glare. HELP. I need advice on a helmet that will eliminate the probles, then I can go back to collage and finish my assessment, advice please. Cost is an issue, but willing to spend around £200.
Regards
Brian
