Hi - I have just returned to MIG welding having not had the 'pleasure' of a rusty old British car for some time! - I'm into Land Rovers now (hence the ID) and once again am battling the tin worms!
On my old Triumphs, I used to disconnect the battery and the alternator before starting to weld - think I picked that up from Haynes or similar.. My more modern Land Rovers seem to be full of computers (but just as rusty ) and I'm worried about blowing up sensitive electronics. I have been told by a local garage that they use some kind of device that clips across the battery, protecting the computers during welding.
Is this sufficient to protect the computers? I'd prefer to not have to disconnect them all if possible!
Cheers.
