As new to this forum (although I have been reading items for quite a while), would like to introduce myself. I'm an engineer by trade but have a life-long fascination with all things mechanical and particularly enjoy the ability to make and mend things.
My main interests are model engineering, old commercial and military vehicles and old (1930's) cars. Probably too many interests on the go at any one time but keeps me poor.
I particularly like to see what other people are doing as the skill and ingenuity used are always inspiring.
I do arc, MIG and gas welding and would like to get into TIG . I must admit to having a liking for arc welding having spent far to long just using the MIG for most everything and am now trying to use the arc more (the half tonne of rods to use-up might also have something to do with this). I have an eclectic mix of equipment much of which is old - one of my MIG sets I've had from new in 1983. I have an elderly Lincoln SAE 300 and a more modern Arcgen but would really like to obtain a Miller Big blue or similar CC/CV set to use with a wire feed unit.
As with most, my workshop is far too small for the amount of clutter but I get by all be it in a hap-hazard way.
Hopefully will be able to post some of my work here as and when.
