Has anybody got a dead imperial 0 to 1 " Moore & wright Micrometer that still has the ratchet spring , thimble and securing screw on the barrel assembly .

I've got hold of a used micrometer as above that is accurate , cost me seven pounds off fleabay but has the above bits missing ……. didn't realise it at the time of buying .

It's not the end of the world if no one has such a beast as I also have a much newer better imperial micrometer with case & spanner .
It would be nice to have the quality slightly oily engineering one in the machine tools box and the older one at my computer desk in the home once I've double degunged it.

Il have a poke about.see if ones not worth saving. Shouldn't matter if it's a 1 to 2" tbh the gubbins should be the same.

i might, ive a little box with mic parts in it that came with some gear i got, ill see what there is later

Thanks guys, my fingers , eyes & legs are crossed in hope & anticipation .


I'm hoping that all More & wright ratchet devices are all the same & it's just the barrel diameter & graduations & feed thread that change .

Just incase someone has got an exact model one with a damaged frame or anvil & face the model number is Moore & Wright model No 961

Strangely enough, the 961 that I have got is in the same state as yours. Sorry not much use to you.
