Well did the deed and this came home with me it came with a faceplate 3 jaw 4 jaw chuck catch plate and some tooling its the gap bed model, tail stock and cross slide I took off before taking out me van, went to Guildford M25 was the usual car park 9 hours round trip .
I will strip it down clean it up might even do a repaint its got a bit of wear but it will be ok just got to get me a VFD to power it up

Have started to strip it down and clean stuff up think im defo going to paint it just not keen on Harrisons choice might go with a blue what you think guys ??

Carriage gear box looking good

Theirs some marking on bed ways I can hardly catch me finger nail on it so don't think its too bad its an old machine bound to have a bit of ware

I'd paint the correct colours. I made the mistake of painting mine an off white, looks fine, but not as nice as OEM

Looks good, nice size for millng with if you didnt already have one.

Dark blue? Wont show the oil too much. White or beige is silly on anything that will spend most its life dirty!
My warco is green

You do see a number of light blue M300's arround, think these must be pre colour change?

I like the original colour, but it dosent look clean for long, mine always looks dirty.

My M300 is green ex GKN looks like a cheap Asian hand painted twice, its a work horse owes me £750 6yr ago.
Fair bit newer than mine Steve. Its the runout of the slides with wear, mines gone.

Been raining a fair bit today so been stripping down a bit more took the carriage gear box off found some broken pins inside possible a repair and a lot of gunk in the bottom

Also took the gearbox off that was full of gunk in the bottom just started to turn stuff rusty

this is the gunk out of the gearbox

I need to get a new bellows for the carriage gearbox and it looks like I'm going to have to address the ware groves in the shaft and some new oil seals for it

Not to sure what I going to do about the oil seal groves in the shaft might see if I can get some off the shelf seals and poss bore the bush to take 2 seals each side which should fall on unmarked parts of the shaft. And for the bellows going to have a look for a steering rack bellows to mod to fit as I have read the parts from Harrison are very expensive
Glad I have done this due to the gunk I have found
