Inspired by other recent threads, thought I'd write up my experiences so far with my old Harrison. I don't think it's going to be a full rebuild or a restoration, so just calling it a rescue will do for starters - though who knows - might just be delaying the inevitable journey to the scrappy.
Anyway, about a year ago - this 1965 Harrison L13 popped up locally to me on Gumtree. Had been pulled out of a factory, and was sitting in the rain on the back of flatbed. It had definitely seen better days, but was close and the guy was able to drop it off, so thought it was worth a punt @£500 for a big 13x40. Sadly didn't have much in the way of accessories, but the guy clearing the factory said he'd keep an eye out for anything that looked like it might have belonged with the lathe on his next visit.
