Guys I would like to get a gas welder. First what I do. Joiner & carpenter by trade, I do blacksmith work, make knives & tools as well as other stuff. I'm retired & would like to get a gas welder to help when working at the gas forge. The gas forge won't isolate a small area. I can't use a coal forge here currently. Also I would like to try & gas weld again, did it at school, I was good at brazing, lead welding but my metal welding looked like a hedgehog, rods sticking up. I don't want a licenced version. I just need something smaller. A local store can supply a more low key version with no licence but as I've only know oxy ac & I know nothing about modern approaches, I'm afraid of being taken for a ride. Your advice on moving forward with something that will weld OK, give me concentrated heat when blacksmithing & some fun too, but not the great big licenced bottles. Thanks.
