Sorry a question,Can run my wolf mig X140 from a generator.
It's been discussed a few times on here, but I'm not having a go at you for asking the question - ask away! Use the search button for "generator" and you'll get a bunch of useful info.Sorry a question,
The other question is can your wolf mig X140 be run on a generator? Not all welders a generator safe, particularly if they have some electronics.
Yes,at a massive cost, yes if you've got loads of work for it,no,if its a once in a blue moon quick job to get you out of the pooGet an actual engine driven welder. It’s a much more efficient way of welding than using a small generator to power an inveter.
A 160 will run all 3.25mm and some 4.0mm rods and most will have decent enough auxiliary power to run a grinder and some lighting for when things get dark outside.
The Shindaiwa and ArcGen models are at the top of the pile in terms of quality and features, but the likes of MOSA and GenSet also have decent offerings.

Are they AC or DC? Are there chinese ones at good prices now? I have only used knacked old sets on ships, never bought one myself...Any to avoid?Buy a cheap used one then, but my point stands. A welder/generator is a much better way to go welding on site than inverter and undersized generator that’s just as likely to cause the inverter to go pop prematurely.
Seen it happen so many times.
No,i do agree with you,but as said, this was just a test really,if mains was there it'll be used, plus that inverter is genny friendlyBuy a cheap used one then, but my point stands.
