    Afternoon all,

I had to repair my drive gates the other day. But now I need to move the bottom hinge pin.

I will be welding outside so my questions are:
    1. use flux core wire or use the gas.
    2. Is it pointless using gas outside.

    Thanks
    Shaun

If you can keep the wind off it either by doing it on a calm day or using a tarp or similar it should be fine.
You might also need to up the gas flow a bit.

So I repaired the gate, used the gas and practiced on prepared and unprepared surfaces (just to see the difference) it is like night and day the difference from flux to gas. Gates on. Been on 3 days and not it the floor yet.

    Thanks for your help.

3mm but the bit with the pin was about 6mm.

Honestly, I am just waiting on it falling off.
