Gas blowlamp

I have some copper pipework to do in the bathroom. A few days ago I ordered the gas and then went to look for the blowlamp, which seems to have been "tidied up" Can't find it anywhere, so looking for a replacement.

The prices are shocking, up to £100 for something so simple, or are they? Lots of reviews of torches around the £30 mark saying not to bother, most of them splutter and fail when used at an angle. Others will not regulate properly. Looked at Screwfix, Been and Queued and Ebay as well as Amazon. Ideally I would like one today though, hence looking at the first two places.

Any suggestions please?

I managed to get a Bullfinch Firepower 3640 cheap from an Ebay seller a couple of years back and it's ok. Travis Perkins were offering the Rothenberg Superfire 2 Hot Bag for £60inc Vat which looks good value.

The piezo ignition is nice, you can hold your victim down and light the torch one handed.

I've got a couple and they are brilliant and durable. I've often thought it would good if they did half size MAPP cylinders as there are times when the full size can get in the way.

+1 - although I've just bought another one as the internal seals went on the old one.
Despite the fact you can get repair kits for the top end, the seals within the main body can, and apparently do, degrade if you leave MAPP gas connected when it isn't getting used.

Mines had a Mapp bottle (not the same one) for about 10 years

Both of mine have had a MAPP bottle connected permanently and mine are not in daily use like Kayos and I've never had any issues. I reckon my oldest one is probably 12 years onld

Damn thing didn't appear until 16:00 and then I found that I had bought the wrong gas bottle!

I don't doubt either of you- just quoting the guy from Rothenberger who explained why mine was exhausting gas from the little hole near the trigger. The new ones have a message on the packing telling you not to leave them connected. Perhaps they've changed the seal material in the past 10 years so it's not quite so durable?
I don't leave a cylinder on now, as I don't want to buy another one!
