As is usual with me this is not an original idea of my own - a few others have posted images of similar things with other makes of mini dumpers but it looked like an idea I could roughly interpret / adapt to fit our Pel-Job ED750.
Bearing in mind it will only get occasional use it had to fit in place of the dumper skip with absolutely no alteration of the dumper itself and be fairly easy and quick to swap with the skip (takes 5 mins or so) however, this approach means the lift height is a bit limited by the travel of the rear lifting rams:
However it should still be pretty handy to move light pallets about in tight spaces and is certainly better than having nothing at all...
It's not going to be lifting anything big and heavy either - this is about as much as we'll ever want to lift (around 350kg at a guess):
I was very surprised at how easily it picked that load up TBH - but a leaky spool valve and a few minor leaky ram seals that aren't an issue when tipping the skip means the forks droop down under that sort of load - that's another job to sort one day but for now careful positioning of the valve holds things steady (hence the bungee needed for the last photo - if you can make it out)
There's some bits yet to finish - like putting in permanent top pins (and painting of course) and I will probably add another horizontal section of box to gain that little bit more height so dumpy bags can be lifted by the handles easier. If I ever get around to to it I may even make a small / lightweight loading bucket to fit too - though that's way down on the list of things to do. There are of course a few things I'd do different if there's a next time but to be fair it works as is so there's no reason to rush into building another improved version.
