Hello and Happy new year to you all!
I’ve contributed to another thread regarding flux core and read some fascinating replies but it wasn’t my thread so don’t want to monopolise it.
From what I can see, FC is better than MIG in almost every way apart from perhaps thin steel, although you must be careful to use the right wire (by this I am told good quality wire). I’ve looked elsewhere on the net and it seems that it really is a U.K. thing to prefer MIG and that people who see it as the ‘dirty’ option (smokey and exsessive spatter)are, perhaps, using the wrong wire or poor quality wire.
Please can I ask for more thoughts on this from you all? I aim to try it this week (fingers crossed).
Thank you.
