Floor levelling compound removal

Have been asked by a friend to remove some self levelling type screed in a hallway. Around 5m squared and is around 12mm thick tapering to a feather edge. Small portion is new, the rest several years old, both laid on a pva primed concrete floor. I have a Hitachi ( Kango 900 type) breaker and a 75mm wide chisel, plus a smaller SDS machine.

Is this likely to be a simple job? Or as I suspect several hours of pain, grief and swearing that I would not want to be involved with and thus left to someone with more suitable equipment.

What screed is it?

But pva aint really the correct primer depending on the screed used

I might lend them the tools, but I'd steer well clear of actually doing it for fear the slightest damage to walls, skirting, the underfloor etc now becomes my fault.

Or maybe they are a friend and wouldn't even think of such a thing.

I'm with @julianf I think it will come off in sheets but you won't know until you start.

Why does it need to come off? Might give you a clue.

Bungalow has suffered subsidence in the past, "wonky" floors as a result. Someone else prior to myself has made a couple of small holes in compound down to concrete floor and it looks to be well stuck down. I think a floor scabbler would be a better approach, with prior skirting board removal. As I am not 100% fit at the moment due to recent viral infection, think I'll chicken out on this one!

if you was taking up wood floors then its a choice if it wants to be removed and your removing glue

the subsidence is minimal for years of build all houses have it

if the floor has been screened then why is there interest to take it up ?

as it apears that its well down and has been leveled its more advisable to use the new level and work from there its far easier to level a ceiling with new plasterboards and a bit of spacing woods if you want square rooms

needed to remove some well stuck floor tiles with 2 pack grout......
got a wide brick chisel, shortened the shaft and welded it to a norm SDS chisel...
Used my Hitachi SDS grill on hammer, came off really well.....
cert better than a hammer n chisel...

a 900 kango isnt any good it will knock half your floor up as well
