Morning,
So I've just bought an oxy-propane set up for cutting and heating and was connecting it all up last night. Its been about 5 years since I last used oxy-fuel gear and back then I only ever used it, never set it up. Last night I initially connected the oxygen hose the wrong way round (so the gas flow was against the BSP safety valve). Once I corrected my rookie error, the oxygen flashback arrestor wouldn't let anything through and looking inside the end it in comparison with the fuel line flashback arrestor, there is a central pin that is not flush with the hole it goes through. Have I 'arrested' this flashback arrestor? I don't see how my rookie error is any different to opening the regulator with the valve on the torch shut though.
Any enlightenment would be gratefully received.
Tom
