I'm making some partitioning for in a factory, just posts bolted to the floor with mesh panels between, someone asked a little while ago how to hold plates square in place on the end of box section for welding, so here is a simple way,
Just an offcut of angle and some clamps, worth mentioning that rolled angle is rarely dead square so check it and give it a bit of hammer therapy if need be.
I've cleaned off the millscale and marked the position of the corners with a centre punch to help setting it up
Tacked with the TIG to give a small tack that wont interfere with the final weld, this is a proper thick to thin job, 10mm plate and 1.5mm wall box section.
And welded with the MIG.
