MIG is much easier when the sheet is completely clean and shiny. The last weld certainly looks much more clean and rounded than the other ones. That's pretty good for 30 mins practice.

Hitch Moderator Staff member Messages 13,251 Location England Jan 19, 2006 #4 Something that i was told when i was learning was you have to learn to grind before you can learn to weld.... As you have found, its far far easier to learn to weld if you are working with clean materials.
